Man dead after being shot on basketball court on Indy’s far east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after being shot on a basketball court on the far east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At about 6:40 p.m. Sunday, police were called to 10510 E. 30th Street, at Grassy Creek Regional Park, in response to a person shot call.

Officers arrived to find a man in his 20s who was suffering from gunshot wounds on the basketball court. The man was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

Police say upwards of 150 people were present in the park, but witnesses reportedly told police they didn’t see anything.
