THOMAS MICHAEL HISKETT

Thomas Michael Hiskett passed away on January 18, 2023 in Greeley Colorado. Tom was born on March 27, 1943 in Nebraska City, NE to Leo and Catherine (Adams) Hiskett, was the older brother to his twin Gerald L. and sister Mary R. (Hiskett) Groves. He graduated from Nebraska City High School class of 1961. He then joined the National Guard where he earned the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, before he was Honorably discharged in 1965. After his discharge, he worked at the American Meter Plant and the Nebraska City Fire/Rescue. Tom moved to Colorado in 1969 and began a career as a plumber with Allen Plumbing and Heating, where he earned the title of Journeyman Plumber. After several years, he owned and operated Hiskett Excavating and remained doing that until the 1990s. He then began driving tractor trailers. At first driving all over the country and, after several years, he drove locally. Tom enjoyed flying and was an accomplished private pilot. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and

GERALD A. ‘JERRY’ THOMS

Gerald Allen Thoms was born April 20, 1932 near Elmwood, NE; the son of Carl and Rosa (Meyer) Thoms. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1949. Gerald was united in marriage to Donna Rae Callaway on April 25, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE and to this union four children were born: Terrance, Sandra, Laura and Jeffrey. They shared 68 years of their lives together before Donna’s passing on November 22, 2021. Jerry and Donna lived and farmed near Weeping Water, Avoca and Nehawka. They managed Thoms Feed and Fertilizer and a Propane Business for 26 years. Survived by children: Terry Thoms – Avoca, Sandra Bjorkman (Tye) of Edgewood, NM, Laura Grundman (Jim) – Talmage and Jeff Thoms (Lyndi) – Syracuse; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Hutton, Russell Thoms (Leah), Matthew Hoselton, Ryan Hoselton (Jaclyn), Jaclyn Kreifels (Jason), Rachel Sparks (Derek), Cami Bergman (Seth), Abbey Keim (Tim), Jamie Juilfs (Zach), 20 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law; other family and friends. Gerald A. Thoms passed away on Feb. 10, 2023 at Morton Place in Nebr. City. Funeral Mass – Monday; Feb. 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. – St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr City. Family Visitation – Sunday(2/19) 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a Prayer Service/Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Thoms family for future designation. Jack Allen, age 72 of Auburn, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Carissa and Kurt Curtis of Nebraska City; grandsons Justyn and wife Kiana Curtis of Clarksville, TN, Brandon Curtis and girlfriend Jadeyn of Nebraska City; greatgrandson Gavyn Dean Curtis; sisters and brothers-inlaw Janice Moore of Kearney, MO, Sharon and Bill Hessler of Auburn, Diana and Ron Perry of Nemaha; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
