Man killed in shooting on Indy’s near west side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after being shot on the near west side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 700 block of N. Goodlet Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
